The Heart of Voh (Cœur de Voh) is a heart-shaped patch in the mangroves near the town of Voh on the West Coast. It became world-famous after photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand featured it on the cover of The Earth from Above.
How to see it
- By air: scenic flights, helicopter rides or microlights from the Koné/Voh area give the classic view.
- On foot: a hiking trail climbs to a viewpoint on the hills above the mangroves. It is a hot, steep walk with no shade, so start early.
The shape comes from salt concentration that stops vegetation growing in the centre of the clearing.
